What is e-mobility?

The mode of transportation using electric propulsion is what is termed as e-mobility. In Kenya e-mobility is steadily on the rise with various startups within the country taking the lead. Electric propulsion has the capacity to disrupt public and commercial transport as e-mobility has the potential for sustainable transport as e-mobility in Kenya contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Kenya’s e-mobility is on an upward trajectory as more companies provide innovative electronic transport solutions to the market. Although the sector lacks robust policies to support mass adoption of electric mobility the sector still continues to grow. Some of the e-mobility companies in Kenya include BasiGo, Roam and Ecoboda have ensured that there are electric powered buses and motorcycles on Kenyan roads.
